Täynnä toivoa se viheriö – kuvia Kuusamon ikimetsistä, on metsään suunniteltu näyttely. Se koostuu valokuvista ja lasilevylle kaiverretuista kuvista metsiemme uhanlaisista tai jo sukupuuttoon kuolleista eläimistä. Sellaisia ovart mm. kokonaan hävinnyt jykevien mäntyjen asukas ukkokauniainen, vanhojen kuusimetsien järeiden haapojen asukas, erittäin uhanalainen korukräpallokas ja ikimetsien kosteiden kuusikoiden asukki uppokeiju.

Kaiken kaikkiaan uhanalaisia metsälajeja maassamme on yli 800. Näille lajeille ei löydy elintilaa talouden tarpeisiin muokatussa luonnossamme.

Filled with hope, it flourishes – Photographs of the old forests of Kuusamo, is an exhibition planned for the woodlands. It is combination of photographs and engravings of endangered or already extinct animals on glass. Such animals are for example the inhabitant of the mighty pinewoods “ukkokauniainen” (Chalcophora mariana), the ancient spruce forests’ and aspen’s habitant the extremely endangered “korukeräpallokas” (Agathidium pulchellum) and “uppokeiju” (Ditylus laevis) the occupant of the old humid spruce woodland’s. All in all there are over 800 endangered forest species in Finland. In this natured shaped for the needs of the economy, there’s no longer living space for these animals.
