Kuvitella! – sarjan lähtökohtana ovat mustavalkoiset varjokuvat lapsuuteni kiiltokuva-albumissa. Kuvien tekemisessä kiehtoi mahdollisuus luoda todellisuudesta irrotettuja maailmoita ja toisaalta halu katsoa, miten vähäiset asiat riittävät. Sävyjen ja värien sijaan kuvissa on pintaa ja ääriviivoja.

Kuvitella! -sarja oli myös ponnahdus isolle "Metsä"-teokselle, joka koostui samankaltaisista elementeistä, mutta jossa niukkojen yksityiskohtien sijaan, niitä on runsaasti.

Kuvitella! sarja on muistutus utopistisesta maailmasta, jossa ihminen on erottamaton osa luontoa, siinä missä kivi, puu, pilvi tai lintu. Luonto on myös kulttuurin, henkisen kasvun ja harmonian kasvualusta, jossa vuorovaikutus ihmisten, kasvien, eläinten ja myös näkymättömien voimien välillä on jatkuvaa ja välttämätöntä.

Mukana on myös synkempiä sävyjä, kun sota ja tuho luovat siihen varjonsa.

To Imagine! – the series stem from the black and white shadow pictures in a cutout picture album form my childhood. In the making of these photographs it was intriguing to create worlds detached from reality and to see how simple elements are enough. Instead of shades and colours are the photos filled with surfaces and outlines. The “To Imagine!” – series was also a springboard for the big “Forest” – artwork. Made from similar elements but instead of only a few details it’s filled with them. The “To Imagine!” – series is a reminder of a utopian world, in which the man is an indistinguishable part of the nature, just like a rock, a tree, a cloud or a bird. Nature is too the growing ground of culture, spiritual growth and harmony where the coaction between humans, plants, animals and invisible forces is constant and necessary. Deeper shades can be seen as well, when wars and destruction cast their shadows.
